Tell me about a time when…, Describe a situation where…, Give me an example of…, How did you handle…. (Tell me about a time you disagreed with a teammate or a manager), провал (Tell me about a mistake you made and what you learned), давление (Describe a time you had to meet a tight deadline), лидерство (Give an example of when you led without formal authority), влияние (How did you convince someone to change their mind?), приоритеты (How do you handle competing priorities?), неоднозначность (Describe a time you had to make a decision with incomplete information), рост (What's the most useful feedback you've received?), инициатива (Tell me about something you improved that nobody asked you to), клиент (Describe a time you dealt with a difficult stakeholder). (I was the on-call engineer for a payments service handling 40k transactions a day); Task — ваша задача или ответственность (The database started returning errors at 3 a.m. and I had to restore service before the European business day); Action — что именно вы сделали, с акцентом на I, а не we, и на решения, а не на события (I checked recent deploys, found a migration that had locked a table, rolled it back, and set up a temporary read replica to absorb the load); Result — измеримый результат и урок (Service was back in 25 minutes, no data lost. I then wrote the runbook and added a check to the migration pipeline so it couldn't happen again). Слова для рассказа: context, challenge, stakeholder, trade-off, pushback — сопротивление, buy-in — поддержка, согласие (to get buy-in from the team), ownership — ответственность, accountability, escalate, align — договориться, outcome — результат, impact, takeaway — вывод, in hindsight — оглядываясь назад, lesson learned, root cause, I took the lead, I stepped up, I owned the mistake, I reached out to, I proposed, I pushed back on, we landed on — мы остановились на.

Tell me about a time you disagreed with a decision:

Situation: Last year my team decided to move our monolith to microservices in one quarter. Task: I was the tech lead for the payments module, and I believed the timeline would put payments at risk. Action: Rather than just pushing back in the meeting, I wrote a one-page doc with the risks, proposed extracting payments last instead of first, and suggested a strangler-fig approach with a feature flag. I presented it to the architect and the product manager, and I made sure to acknowledge the benefits of their plan before laying out the concerns. Result: We landed on a phased plan; payments moved in the following quarter with zero incidents, while two other modules that went first had three Sev-2s. The takeaway for me was that a written proposal with alternatives gets more buy-in than disagreement in a meeting.

Фразы-связки: To set the scene… My responsibility was… What I did was… The outcome was… In hindsight, I would… What I learned was…

I've never really failed Past Perfect: by the time I joined, the team had already decided
